Job description
Overview

We are looking to employ a highly motivated, enthusiastic and adaptable individual to work within our Ranger Team at Moors Valley Country Park, working as part of the provision of our Cycle Hire & Adventure Valley facilities.

The post holder will assist in running activities for children and families within a busy Country Park. Duties include supporting the Activities Rangers in the running of our Cycle Hire and Adventure Valley activities; ‘Mini Landrover driving experience’ and Nature Golf. Daily tasks include serving visitors, answering questions, giving information and safety briefing to children and parents, handling money, processing sales, setting up and packing away activities and supporting the wider ranger team with any issues that arise.

Some key responsibilities of the role include; Carry out day to day operations at the Cycle Hire & Adventure Valley facilities, including setting up & closing daily activities.

Responsibilities
  • Checking of cycles (including attachments) and Adventure Valley equipment to ensure they are safe to use
  • Keep all cycles, mobility aids, mini landrovers and golf equipment clean
  • Carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks following appropriate training - Driving small electric landrovers to and from the activity site - Give instruction and information to visitors about bikes, equipment and cycle trails
  • Carry out cash handling and end of day cashing up procedures/processing personal information to include disclaimers
  • Basic course, vehicle and equipment safety checks before opening Adventure Valley
  • Follow Dorset Council procedures and work within Health and Safety guidelines - Wearing a uniform and carrying a radio to communicate with other park staff
