BigData Scientist – Docklands, London
Our client, an international organization, is looking to recruit a Big Data Expert with 2 to 5 years of experience as a Big Data Scientist.
You will have knowledge and experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and will understand and analyze large datasets to discover new insights.
You will work in a multi-disciplinary team within a highly technical and complex environment.
Well-versed in scalable data mining and machine learning techniques, including Kernel Methods, Deep Learning, Statistical Relational Learning, and Ensemble Methods.
You will model using advanced statistical/mathematical models, predict and segment data, and hypothesize/evolve use cases to monetize data and generate business value.
You will translate business needs into technical requirements and implementation plans.
Experience with Big Data technologies and analytics.
Proficiency in C++, Java, Python, Shell Script; familiarity with R, Matlab, SAS Enterprise Miner.
Knowledge of Elasticsearch and understanding of the Hadoop ecosystem.
Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing tools such as Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc.
Advanced skills in Excel for analytical purposes.
An MSc or PhD in Data Science, an analytical subject (Physics, Mathematics, Computing), or other quantitative disciplines would be advantageous.
The position is based in Docklands, London.
This is a 3 to 6-month contract assignment.
