Job Description:

Overview:

In this role, you will support the bid team’s output (SQs/ITTs/presentations etc.), producing generic technical and non-technical content, ensuring content written by others responds to questions asked and is formatted correctly. You will carry out final reviews of all bids, including quality, grammatical, and sense checks, ensuring the bid is ready for submission by the deadline. Ideally, you will be a competent user of InDesign with a passion for writing and previous bid writing/coordinating experience.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support with strategy development and content planning.
  • Ensure all responses comply with the provided specifications.
  • Work with the bid coordinator to dissect questions and produce answer plans to maximize relevant information from team members.
  • Present technical information in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Maintain a library of pre-written and reusable content (e.g., company info, standard responses, technical content, staff CVs, project case studies, marketing materials, graphics, photos).
  • Use online client portals to upload/download documents, raise questions, and circulate responses and alerts.
  • Ensure win themes are articulated to meet/exceed client requirements.
  • Assist in managing the team inbox and diary.
  • Help create presentations for tender interviews.
  • Organize layout to produce high-quality submissions within each client’s bid requirements.
  • Collect feedback on bid results: wins and losses.
  • Update our database of case studies and reviews in collaboration with MD and Directors.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support writing content from scratch, copy editing, and proofreading, focusing on compliance, completeness, and customer focus.
  • Ensure documents are accurate and well-formatted.
  • Work with MD to audit and maintain our library of pre-written content.
  • Support Directors in pre-prepositioning and capture planning for upcoming opportunities.

Experience:

  • Degree in English language or linguistics preferred.
  • Proven professional writing experience with understanding of bid procedures and responding to tenders, ideally in the construction consultancy sector.
  • High accuracy under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to present information visually.
  • Motivated with excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent English vocabulary, grammar, and communication skills.
  • Meticulous proofreading skills.
  • Office 365 proficiency.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Deep knowledge of the end-to-end bid process.
  • Proven track record in a similar sector role.
  • Flexibility to meet deadlines and time pressures.
