Would you like tomake an impact on major recruitment contracts?

We're recruiting for a skilled Bid Writer to join an established and successful recruitment business operating nationally across multiple sectors. You'll be part of a centralised team responsible for producing persuasive, tailored bids and tenders for high-value public and private sector opportunities.

Working closely with colleagues in Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations, ' gather the necessary technical and operational details to create clear, compliant, and competitive proposals. This is a varied and deadline-driven role that requires excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects at once.

Previous bid writing experience in recruitment or professional services is ideal, but we also welcome applications from individuals in other content-heavy, fast-paced environments.

The successful Bid Writer will:

Manage the full bid and tender process from initial scoping through to submission.

  • Write compelling, tailored responses that meet client specifications and showcase service capability.
  • Collaborate with internal specialists to gather accurate technical and operational information.
  • Ensure bids are compliant, well-structured, and delivered on time.
  • Develop supporting documents such as case studies, implementation plans, and quality assurance statements.
  • Maintain and improve the central bid content library for future efficiency.
  • Use visuals, formatting, and layout techniques to enhance presentation.
  • Research industry trends, competitors, and clients to inform bid strategy.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements within the bid function.

Must-Have Skills.

Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to produce professional, persuasive content.

Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality control.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; InDesign or similar design tools is an advantage.

Experience in a corporate or professional services environment with cross-functional collaboration.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have.

APMP accreditation (Foundation or above), or willingness to work towards it.

Knowledge of public sector procurement frameworks (e.g., CCS, ESPO, YPO, NHS Workforce Alliance).

Background in recruitment, outsourcing, or staffing solutions.

Experience with bid/tender platforms (Responsive, Loopio, Autogen AI, etc.).

Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.

Location & Travel

This position is based in Rochdale with hybrid working. It's easily accessible from surrounding Greater Manchester areas such as Oldham, Bury, Bolton, Manchester City Centre, Salford, Middleton, Heywood, and Ashton-under-Lyne. Occasional travel to internal meetings or workshops may be required, with some overnight stays.
