Within the Service Product Line, you will be a key stakeholder of our tender team supporting Regions in delivering competitive, well-written technical proposals notably for Rolling Stock Maintenance to achieve sales.
Responsibilities:
Support Regions on key Service tenders:
- Work alongside the Proposal Manager to analyse the customer requirements, help develop the proposal strategy including deadlines and bid writing strategies.
- Participate in the bid preparation from launch meeting to final proposal review meetings including touchpoints.
- Ensure that Alstom proposals maximise customer evaluation criteria by writing, formatting, editing, reviewing and revising high-quality, persuasive technical and commercial proposal documents tailored to the specific needs of each client and the requirements of the bid.
- Support the development and inclusion of win themes/key differentiators into narratives in a compelling manner that clearly articulates Alstom’s solution and limits of scope to the customer’s requirements.
- Contact and interview subject-matter experts as needed to obtain detailed information, fill in gaps and gain a deeper understanding of topics, technical strategy and proposal win themes and key differentiators.
- Follow-up with subject matter experts to ensure inputs are provided on time.
- Close review team comments (add missing information, address gaps, improve text as required). Present complex technical information and Alstom terminology in a clear and understandable manner for non-technical customers that clearly articulates the commercial benefits of Alstom solutions.
- Peer review responses and coach colleagues in bid writing best practice.
- Contribute to the Win/Loss Analysis and action plan follow-up.
- Manage workload on multiple proposals simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Where requested support on the writing of non-technical proposal responses.
Maintain an up to date central Services tender and content library:
- Contribute to the maintaining of a library of bid response templates, case studies, and other relevant documentation.
- Continuously improve bid content by integrating feedback from clients and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all bid documents adhere to company branding and quality standards.
- Create training materials and presentations when needed.
Required Education and Skills:
- BS/BA in related field such as Engineering, English, Journalism or Business and/or a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience and a proven track record in tenders, proposal writing or other related field.
- Technical knowledge of industrial projects notably Rolling Stock Maintenance.
- English communication skills (spoken and written) and possibly other languages such as French.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Experience in creating documentation for audiences with different levels of technical skill.
- Experience creating infographics such as diagrams, screenshots, workflows, graphs, etc.
- Strong experience with MS Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with Large Language Models such as Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT.
- Awareness of and compliance with Request For Proposal process (RFP).
