Your new role

We are looking for an experienced bid modeller / commercial manager to join our growing transport consultancy commercial team and be a vital part of our continued growth in the UK. Reporting to the Commercial Director, your primary focus will be to:

• Work as part of bid teams and lead on the development of winning commercial strategies for design and build projects and design frameworks in liaison with the Bid Director and Bid Manager;
• Implement these strategies into financial models, considering project risks and company expectations;
• Work with the Bid Director to present these strategies through governance processes for senior stakeholder approval;
• Assist the Commercial Director in managing financial risks and opportunities during bidding and project delivery;
• Collaborate with project managers and directors during project execution to manage risks and opportunities at the project level;
• Coordinate with the internal finance team to ensure project risks are managed within financial systems;
• Advise teams on commercial contractual issues as needed.

About you

We support your personal and professional development from day one. For this role, the following qualifications, skills, and capabilities are essential:

• Strong experience bidding civil engineering consultancy frameworks in the transport sector;
• Experience bidding for engineering design services on design and build projects as the contractor’s designer;
• Knowledge of NEC forms of contract, especially working with NEC Schedule of Cost Components;
• Experience in a finance-related role (preferred but not essential);
• Experience supporting civil engineering project delivery, either as a project manager or in a commercial role.
