Job summary

Thales Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Bid Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality, strategically important bids within the Underwater Systems domain. The role requires coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, shaping bid strategies, and producing compelling proposals in a hybrid working environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in complex engineering or defence bids, strong leadership, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading bids in engineering or defence environments.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional, multi-site teams.
• Strong stakeholder and supplier relationship skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and risk management in bids.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, resilient to change.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary bid teams, ensuring a structured, well-governed and timely bid process.
• Create and control bid schedules, requirements baselines and resource plans to support high-quality deliverables.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, partners, suppliers and customer representatives.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment across all bid artefacts, including estimates, compliance, commercial terms and the initial project baseline.
• Lead the preparation of PQQ responses, proposal development and governance reviews to produce winning submissions.
