About The Role

Bid Manager, Global Pursuits

Gleeds' Global Pursuit Team provides world-class bid support on major pursuits across the globe, including the UK. Working collaboratively with regional teams, we focus on strategic client positioning, target growth sectors, our top 10 Key Client Accounts, and Target Growth Accounts.

As Bid Manager, you will manage our most high-profile and complex bids throughout the entire end-to-end bid process. This includes supporting all aspects of the Global Pursuit Bid Process (GPBP) from pre-bid preparation and strategic positioning to live bid phases and post-tender interviews.

You will ensure technical teams are well-equipped to respond to client objectives and secure work through our best practice bidding approach. This role also involves supervising and developing staff and promoting good practice within the Global Pursuit Team.

This position is UK-wide and can be based in any of our UK offices, including London, Bristol, Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester, Liverpool, or Leeds.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading strategy and proposition development for major bids to articulate win themes early in the process;
  2. Leading storyboarding workshops to develop response structures that highlight our win themes;
  3. Planning, managing, and completing bid submissions on time;
  4. Reviewing submissions against client requirements for quality and accuracy;
  5. Coordinating bid responses and producing answer schedules for technical teams;
  6. Interpreting questions within pre-qualification questionnaires and tender documents;
  7. Constructing relevant answers that address client questions and showcase the company positively;
  8. Ensuring all tender documents contain accurate and current information;
  9. Maintaining records and statistics related to submissions and success rates;
  10. Managing and supervising team members, including delegating, training, and performance evaluation;
  11. Developing and mentoring bid team members.

About You

Requirements:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in bidding;
  • Understanding of professional services and/or the building/property industry (desirable);
  • Project management experience;
  • Line management experience (preferred);
  • Experience managing large, successful bids;
  • Creativity and innovation in bid documentation;
  • Ability to plan and facilitate bid workshops with complex teams;
  • Ability to lead internal projects and improve bid processes;
  • Strong relationship-building skills;
  • Creative writing and presentation skills;
  • Willingness to travel within the UK;
  • Advocacy for the Global Pursuit team and company values.

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and PowerPoint;
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign (preferred);
  • Excellent English communication skills;
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented;
  • Strong editing skills for grammar, style, and consistency;
  • Effective team player and communicator;
  • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines;
  • Strong organizational and project management skills;

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (desirable);
  • APMP certification (desirable).
