Job summary

Watkin Jones PLC in London is seeking an ambitious Bid Manager to lead the pursuit, development and conversion of opportunities across our residential and refurbishment portfolio.

You'll own the bid lifecycle from identifying opportunities through to submission, negotiation and securing partnerships, coordinating land, development, technical, commercial and construction teams to deliver winning bids that are commercially robust and technically compelling.

Qualifications

• Proven bid and tender management within residential development.
• Knowledge of affordable housing, PBSA, Build-to-Rent (BTR) and SFH.
• Experience supporting refurbishment, regeneration and planned works programmes.
• Strong commercial awareness, including development appraisals, GDV and cost planning.
• Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple live opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and secure new development partnerships with RP and authorities.

Watkin Jones is looking for an ambitious and commercially astute Bid Manager to lead the pursuit, development and conversion of exciting new opportunities across our new build residential and refurbishment portfolio.

This is a high-impact role at the heart of our growth strategy, where you'll take ownership of the entire bid lifecycle, from identifying opportunities through to submission, negotiation and securing new development partnerships.

Working closely with Registered Providers, local authorities and development partners, you'll coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across land, development, technical, commercial and construction functions to deliver winning bids that are commercially robust, technically compelling and delivered on time.

The position is based from our London Office (minimum of 3 days per week) with the flexibility to work from home too.

What you'll bring

• Proven experience managing bids and tenders within residential development
• Knowledge of affordable housing, PBSA, Build-to-Rent (BTR) and Single Family Housing (SFH)
• Experience supporting refurbishment, regeneration and planned works programmes
• Strong commercial awareness, including development appraisals, GDV and cost planning
• Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills
• The ability to manage multiple live opportunities in a fast‑paced environment

What we're looking for

You'll ideally hold a degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Real Estate or a related discipline, with membership of (or progression towards) a professional body such as RICS or CIOB. You'll also bring a strong understanding of modern procurement routes, development partnerships and current trends within the residential sector.
