An established and reputable main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Bid Writer or Manager to join its growing pre-construction team in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and highly organised Bid Manager to take ownership of the bid process across a range of exciting construction projects within various sectors.
The successful candidate will work closely with pre-construction, estimating, commercial, design and operational teams, playing a key role in developing high-quality, compelling and commercially robust submissions.
Bid Manager Roles & Responsibilities
- Managing multiple bids and tenders from initial enquiry through to submission.
- Developing and managing bid programmes, ensuring key deadlines are met.
- Coordinating contributions from estimating, commercial, design, construction and specialist teams.
- Developing clear and compelling bid strategies and win themes.
- Producing high-quality PQQ, ITT and tender submissions.
- Writing, reviewing and editing technical and quality responses.
- Coordinating method statements, programmes, case studies and supporting documentation.
- Working closely with estimating and commercial teams to ensure submissions are commercially aligned.
- Engaging with clients, consultants, supply chain partners and other key stakeholders throughout the tender process.
- Organising and facilitating bid meetings, reviews and presentations.
- Managing the bid library and ensuring consistent standards across submissions.
- Supporting interview and presentation preparation.
- Identifying opportunities to differentiate submissions and improve win potential.
- Ensuring a smooth handover from pre-construction/bid stage into project delivery.
Bid Manager Requirements
- Proven experience in a bid writing or bid management role
- Experience working for a main contractor or fit out contractor
- Strong knowledge of the UK construction industry and procurement processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The confidence to engage with senior stakeholders, clients and consultants.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Experience preparing and presenting tender interviews would be advantageous.
