Today, as well as providing stunning planting solutions, we also run a premiumcorporate floristry serviceand create impressive project work, from roof gardens toliving walls.

The opportunity:

We are seeking to recruit a pro-active Bid & Design Operations Manager, who will manage our team of Designers, who support our Commercial Managers with the designing and specifying of all projects. The role also includes management of our Commercial Administrators, who process our orders through to Operations once the project has been won.

Location & Hours:

The role is offered on a permanent basis 40 hours per week, based out of our HQ in Henham (CM22 6AA), enjoying a rural location, where lunch is provided onsite daily and ample parking.

The role offers 1 day per week working from home.

Key deliverables:

  • Line manages all Designers and Commercial Administrators
  • Schedules all projects in the design team, ensuring workload is consistent across the team
  • Setting KPIs and managing the team against these
  • Has a passion for the use of software, AI, etc to enhance both the quality and efficiency of our proposals
  • Sometimes required to attend important and strategic client meetings with Sales and/or Commercial Managers
  • Attend internal Win-Strategy Meetings to decide the best strategies for securing new projects
  • Responsible for ensuring Designers meet the brief provided by clients, understanding the client drivers and putting their vision into reality
  • Responsible for 100% accuracy of specifications when processed through to Operations, to ensure no turn backs or aborted installations
  • Manage and improve on any knowledge gaps within the team
  • Work closely and cohesively with all other departments for the greater benefit of the whole company
  • Continually look for ways to improve quality, efficiency and opportunities to set us apart from the competition

What you will need:

We would welcome applications from the following with relevant experience in Facilities Services, Fit outs, Interior Design: Design & Commercial Team Lead, Design & Commercial Operations Manager, Head of Design & Commercial Support, Design & Proposals Manager, Commercial Design Manager, Bid & Design Operations Manager

  • The ability to manage and lead a team
  • Experience of working in a project led business model
  • Experience of using software/AI for design purposes
  • MS Office including PowerPoint, Excel
  • An eye for design
  • A willingness to learn in horticulture (prior knowledge is a bonus but not essential)
  • An aptitude for thoroughness and detail
  • A positive, proactive attitude that will fit into a fast-paced, high-energy team
  • Commercial acumen
  • A desire to win
  • Driving License
  • CAD/Design skills a bonus but not essential

Salary: £50-60k dependant on experience
