Here at Hilti GB, we have a brand-new position based from our Manchester HQ for a Bid and Commercial Manager (known internally as a Bid and Proposal Manager) to deliver high quality bids and proposals for large private and public sector project initiatives, to further strengthen our exciting expansion plans in Great Britain and beyond.

What does the role involve?

  • Commercial Risk Management: You will identify, analyse and mitigate commercial risks, and derive pricing that reflects the full solution value for Hilti, while working closely across functions to assess pricing and mitigate risks.
  • Bid and Proposal Management: You will review tender documents, understand customer requirements, and develop winning proposal strategies, whilst influencing and leading cross functional teams, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Overall contact management: Youwill lead then end-to-end process, from drafting contracts, negotiating terms, reviewing
    conditions, contract signing, and handover, as well as commercial issues arising from contract execution phase.
  • Commercial Support: You will provide strategic commercial advice during project acquisition, influence customer decisions, and lead internal discussions to help the Business Development team better position Hilti when bidding for large projects.

What you need is:

  • Proven in a comparable, large-scale Bid, Proposal, Commercial Risk, Tendering and/or Contract management role, managing bids and the associated risk through all phases on major accounts and projects.
  • In depth knowledge of contractual terms and conditions, with strong customer facing experience in structuring and negotiating contracts.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen and risk management skills, with an in-depth understanding of business process management.
  • Ability to influence and lead cross functional teams, with a strong team ethos.
  • As this role requires in-person attendance at our HQ therefore you need to reside with a commutable distance from Manchester.
  • Desirable:
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Business, Finance, Legal, Engineering or related area from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience within a multinational environment and willingness for occasional business travel across Europe.
  • Experience in energy or construction project management.
  • Highly regulated industry experience, within construction in one of the following industries: Power, Nuclear, New Build, Engineering and/or EFW.
  • Proficiency in other European language, in addition to fluency in English.
