JOB TITLE: BI & Reporting Manager – 12 Month FTC/Secondment
SALARY: The salary banding for this role is £59,850 - £66,500
LOCATION: You’ll be based within one of our Data Centres of Excellence in Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IP&I), which are in Bristol, Edinburgh and Leeds
HOURS: 35 hours, full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

We're looking for a dynamic, motivated, forward-thinking BI & Reporting Manager to join the team. You’ll focus on the designing and implementation of advanced self-serve analytics solutions to solve complex business problems for a variety of audiences. Liaising with internal customers to understand their needs, convert these into technical requirements, and then create, develop and deliver solutions to provide them with actionable insight whilst collaborating with multi-functional teams including data engineers, analysts and data scientists.
You’ll be responsible for leading a small team of BI analysts, setting clear expectations, offering support, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
What will I be doing?
Business Intelligence & Visualisation – Develop innovative and complex end-to-end BI and data visualisation solutions. You’re an expert and identify emerging trends, tools and techniques to enable next generation communication of data.
Strategic BI Tools - A strong knowledge building reusable assets within strategic business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau is required, including Power Query, DAX and Tableau Prep where appropriate.
Data Analysis - The ability to communicate the takeaways from these techniques in a clear, visual manner to support senior business partner's decision making is key to the success of our projects.
Data Storytelling – A good ability to tell effective stories with data and an understanding for the needs of different personas and partners.
Data Modelling & Design – Well-practiced in creating solutions from multiple data sources with an efficient and effective data model.
Creating Design Consistency - Experience implementing data visualizations which are accessible and follow design standard methodologies including layout, colour theory and testing your designs.

What you’ll need
Significant experience delivering business intelligence solutions
A track record of delivering business intelligence solutions at scale from a complex data ecosystem
Good understanding of Insurance, Pensions & Investments products
Strong customer/partner management skills, including working with legal, compliance, IT, and product teams
Previous experience of leading a team with the ability to inspire and lead your team by setting clear expectations, offering support, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Superb communication, presentation, and story-telling skills
