Proactive Appointments Ltd. is partnering with a leading British brand to hire a BI Engineer for permanent placement in London. The role delivers and develops the organisation-wide BI infrastructure, integrating data from core systems to provide a single business view.

You will work with modern BI tools, Power BI, and data modeling in a collaborative Agile environment, focusing on ETL/ELT, SQL, Python, and data quality across pipelines.

Qualifications

• Experience with data engineering, ETL/ELT, data pipelines and cloud data platforms.
• Expertise in data warehousing, dimensional modelling and Kimball principles.
• Advanced SQL/T-SQL for query development, optimisation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong Python, PySpark or similar for data manipulation and automation.
• Experience integrating data from APIs, databases, files and other sources.
• Experience with data quality, pipeline monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CI/CD, source control and DevOps practices.
• Experience developing semantic models using Power BI, SSAS or similar.
• Hands-on with modern BI tools, preferably Power BI.
• Experience in Agile development environments.

BI Engineer

Proactive IT Appointments have partnered with a leading British brand in their search for a BI Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.This is a key role in the Business responsible for the delivery and development of the organisation wide BI infrastructure, bringing together data from our core systems to provide a single view of the business and its strategic partners.

Experience required:

• Strong experience in data engineering, including ETL/ELT, data pipelines and modern cloud data platforms
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modelling, Kimball principles and data architecture
• Advanced SQL/T-SQL skills, including query development, optimisation and troubleshooting
• Strong Python, PySpark or similar programming skills for data manipulation and automation
• Experience integrating data from APIs, databases, files and other sources
• Experience with data quality, pipeline monitoring and troubleshooting
• Experience working with CI/CD, source control and DevOps practices
• Experience developing and maintaining semantic models using Power BI, SSAS or similar
• Hands-on experience with modern BI tools, preferably Power BI
