Job summary

SR2 is seeking a BI Developer for the Data Programme on an initial 6-month contract, outside IR35. The role is hybrid with weekly to fortnightly travel to Yorkshire to support clinicians and executives with Power BI dashboards.

You will turn NHS data into actionable insights by building data models, DAX measures and SQL data pulls while ensuring data quality and timely publishing.

Qualifications

• Experience building Power BI dashboards end-to-end, including data modelling and DAX measures.
• Ability to write efficient SQL against data warehouses and extracts.
• Comfort communicating data insights to clinicians and executives.

Responsibilities

• Agree dashboard requirements with users and decide the decisions dashboards support.
• Build Power BI dashboards end to end: data model, DAX, visuals, publishing.
• Write and tune SQL against the data warehouse and SystmOne extracts.
• Track data-input compliance with drill-down by team.
• Report on mental health data and national measures.
• Provide handover documentation for the information team.

BI Developer - Data Programme - Outside IR35
1st November Start, 6 months initially with rolling extensions expected
Outside IR35: £375 - £425 per day
Hybrid: Travel once every week / 2 weeks to Yorkshire

A Yorkshire trust is about to get much cleaner data. You'll turn it into Power BI dashboards that clinicians and executives actually use, and that prove the programme is working.

What you'll do

• Agree with users which decisions each dashboard needs to support
• Build Power BI dashboards end to end: data model, DAX measures, visuals and publishing
• Write and tune SQL against the trust's data warehouse and SystmOne extracts
• Track data-input compliance, with drill-down to team level
• Report on mental health data, including MHSDS submission quality and national measures
• Work with the BAs and SystmOne developer so form changes flow cleanly into reporting

• Agreed dashboard requirements and measure definitions
• A baseline data-input compliance report
• Published Power BI dashboards with row-level security and scheduled refresh
• SQL views or procedures behind each dashboard
• Handover documentation for the trust's information team

What you'll bring

• Strong Power BI: DAX, Power Query and data modelling

• NHS or wider health and care data experience
• The ability to explain data clearly, from ward manager to executive
