As part of this transformation, we are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to support the development of high-quality systems that are critical to business stakeholders. The BI Developer will work as part of a collaborative team, using modern tools and practices to deliver reliable, user-focused applications aligned with our standards and business needs. Strong understanding of business requirements, attention to detail, and skills in user experience design and technical solutions are essential.

Main responsibilities

1. Developing quality software (70%)
2. Planning, design, and documentation (10%)

Knowledge, skills, and experience required:

Technical - data-focused developer with the following skills:

• Experience as a BI Developer using the Microsoft BI stack including SQL Server (2012 – 2022), SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI
• Strong SQL skills for querying, creating tables/views, and stored procedures
• Experience in designing ETL processes, data warehousing strategies, and theories
• Experience with Data Platform technologies in Azure such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Logic Apps, and Blob Storage
• Building dashboards, reports, and cubes using SQL, MDX, DAX, and Power BI
• Developing and maintaining ETL processes
• Understanding dimension modeling, ideally within financial services

Understanding of quality software development through:

• Testing frameworks and practices, including meeting NFRs
• Use of principles and patterns, writing clean and secure code
• Integration with monitoring and alerting frameworks

Ways of Working and Tooling:

• Experience with agile development practices
• Experience with project management tools like Jira, TFS
• Experience with Git version control
• Experience with CI/CD tools like TeamCity, Octopus, Azure DevOps, Jenkins

Support:

• Desirable experience providing third-level support for production systems
