Job summary

Impact Futures Group in Birmingham is seeking a talented BI Analyst to join our growing BI team. You’ll create and maintain Power BI dashboards, analyse complex datasets and provide reporting for senior leaders and clients, turning data into actionable insight.

Working with MIS, CRM and E-Portfolio data, you’ll present findings clearly and influence decisions. The role is hybrid, with weekly office attendance and opportunities to shape reporting across the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Power BI knowledge with 2+ years of experience.
  • Experience with large and complex datasets.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to translate data into insights for stakeholders.
  • Experience with CRM/MIS and E-Portfolio systems.
  • Experience in apprenticeship/education sector is a plus.

Impact Futures Group have two brand new opportunities for talented BI Analysts to join the team on a permanent, full time basis.

This is a hybrid working role; a blend between working from home and our Birmingham office. It will require attendance to

Birmingham office at least once per week.

The Role

We’re looking for a talented and analytical BI Analyst to join our growing BI Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems and turning complex information into

meaningful insights. You’ll play an important role in providing reporting and analysis to our Senior Leadership Team and wider

business, as well as creating bespoke reports and dashboards for Directors and senior stakeholders.

You’ll work across existing reporting, developing new and bespoke solutions, and using your analytical skills to uncover the

stories behind the data.

Our current reporting environment is primarily Power BI, with data driven from our MIS, CRM and E-Portfolio systems.

We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious, self-motivated and confident in challenging the status quo. You’ll be

comfortable using statistically robust approaches to identify and communicate:

  • Cause and effect
  • Trends and forecasts
  • Warning flags and opportunities
  • Relationships and patterns across different datasets

You’ll also be comfortable working with different formats and unstructured datasets, looking at information from different

perspectives to uncover valuable insights.

Most importantly, you’ll be a confident communicator who can take complex data and turn it into a clear, engaging story for a

range of audiences.

What you'll be doing

As our BI Analyst, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Creating, developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards
  • Preparing and analysing complex datasets
  • Producing internal and external reporting and insight for a range of stakeholders and clients
  • Deriving intelligence from multiple and varied data sources
  • Maintaining and improving datasets, reporting processes and data quality
  • Responding to stakeholder queries in a fast-paced environment
  • Identifying trends, patterns and insights that can support better decision-making
  • Analysing local, national and global trends that could impact the organisation and wider industry
  • Creating bespoke reports and analysis for Directors and senior leaders
  • Presenting data and insight in a visually engaging way usingPowerPoint
  • Sharing knowledge, generating ideas and supporting teams and stakeholders with data-led solutions

About you

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with curiosity, creativity and excellent communication skills.

You’ll ideally have:
  • Advanced Power BI user (2+ years’ experience)
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • A self-motivated approach with a strong problem-solving mindset
  • Strong analytical, mathematical and IT skills
  • The ability to translate complex data into clear, meaningful insight
  • Confidence communicating with senior stakeholders across different departments
  • Strong PowerPoint skills and the ability to present data visually and engagingly
  • Previous experience of CRM/MIS and E-Portfolio systems
  • Previous experienceworking within the apprenticeship, education or training sector
  • Previous experience working with unstructured or varied data sources
