BHSCT Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse, Vascular Surgery

The post holder will demonstrate person centred care, through role-modelling this approach to care in their own practice. In addition, the post holder will play a supportive role in leading the development of services and the care setting, seeking opportunities for learning and development. Drawing on own expertise, the post holder will disseminate expert evidence based knowledge and skills in order to continuously develop self and others.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, to develop and co-ordinate care and services to ensure that they are effective and holistic.
• Role model and enable effective communication with patients and relatives to assist in their understanding of their illness, care and treatment.
• Adopt a questioning approach to existing practices and constantly seeks ways of improving care.

Skills and Qualifications

• Registered on Part 1 (Adult) of the NMC Register.
• Provide evidence of experience as a Registered Nurse for 3 years’ with at least 2 years’ working within a Vascular Surgery environment OR acute surgical environment.
