Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer (EHO) – Food and Health & Safety. This role focuses on health and safety enforcement, handling service requests, RIDDOR notifications, lift reports, and asbestos notifications. This is a FT Contract (hourly – inside IR35) initially offered on a 3 month basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a health and safety caseload, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Conduct reactive visits, investigate accidents under RIDDOR, and review risk assessments.
  • Investigate complaints and health & safety concerns, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Liaise with businesses, landlords, and stakeholders to promote compliance.
  • Provide expert advice and enforcement on a range of health and safety matters.

Requirements:

  • Environmental Health Degree or NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent qualification).
  • Proven experience in health and safety investigations, RIDDOR cases, and handling complaints.
  • Strong understanding of local authority health & safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
