Job summary

Hull Culture and Leisure is seeking a Beverage & Events Operations Supervisor to manage day-to-day delivery across venues, ensuring high-quality customer service, food preparation, and staffing resources. The role requires hands-on food prep, adherence to food hygiene and safety laws, and strong leadership of the catering team.

The post carries a salary in the pay band (£26,824.00 - £29,064.00) with competitive benefits, training opportunities, and career development.

Responsibilities

• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.
• Supervise day-to-day Beverage & Events delivery at bar and café venues to high standards with needed resources and equipment.
• Provide hands-on cooking and food prep in line with Food Hygiene, Licensing and Health & Safety rules.
• Ensure Bar & Events comply with health, safety and licensing laws; develop risk assessments and inventories to improve service.
• Monitor delegated revenue budgets to meet financial targets and value for money.
• Ensure security, handling, banking and accounting for money and keys per procedures.
• Check bar, kitchen and food service equipment for safety and compliance.
• Gather customer feedback and help cost new menus to improve profitability.
• Build relationships with venue management to promote best practice.
• Order and monitor stock to ensure value for money.
• Assist in staff rotas planning to meet service needs efficiently.
• Keep paperwork and invoices up to date; perform simple admin tasks.
• Support performance management and staff development.
• Be a key holder for venue security and evacuation as required.
• Act as Events Manager overseeing events delivery.
• Comply with Health and Safety policies and related legislation.
