Circular Resourcing are working with a global engineering consultancy businesses, to identify an expert within Battery Energy Storage to offer Technical advisory services to developers, owners, operators, lenders, and investors of standalone or co-located battery energy storage system projects.
As the BESS Engineer / Consultant, you will take part in renewable and energy storage projects in the UK, as well across several other countries as the opportunity presents itself.
The position’s principal duties and responsibilities include:
• Technical specification drafting and support with contract development;
• Monitoring of market technology developments and new battery products;
• Technical due diligence (lender’s, M&A and development);
• Support to Clients on engineering matters;
• Advice on technology and implementation;
• Tech support for contractual suite review, drafting or negotiation (such as equipment supply and ICP contracts);
• Construction stage monitoring and inspections;
• Design review and technology assessment;
• Ensure the quality of our deliverables; and
• Collaborate and participate in inter-region and inter-business line projects on an ad hoc basis.
We expect that you will take a significant role within our organisation and are excited for the opportunity of counting on your outstanding skills and qualifications listed below.
• Technical experience with the following battery energy storage system (BESS) sub systems:
o Battery module and rack systems;
o Power conversion systems;
o Battery unit controllers;
o BESS cooling systems; and
o Fire detection and suppression systems.
• Excellent technical report writing skills.
• Experience leading or taking part in a technical due diligence process and in battery equipment procurement.
• Experience with the application of relevant IEC standards, NFPA 855, and UL9540A
• Dealing effectively and professionally with external and internal clients, attending meetings etc.
• Can witness site acceptance testing and provide site-based construction monitoring.
• Can work as part of a wider engineering team and also to operate autonomously.
