Job summary

RES is seeking an engineer with early-career consultancy experience to join their Advisory Services team in Glasgow. This role is pivotal in supporting battery energy storage projects across the UK and Europe, combining technical analysis with client-facing responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering and relevant experience in renewable energy or infrastructure consulting. The position includes flexible opportunities for career growth and involvement in high-profile projects.

Qualifications

• Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or renewable energy projects.
• Strong experience in technical due diligence, owner’s engineer or technical advisory work.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical advisory services across battery storage projects.
• Support project development and construction monitoring.
• Prepare clear technical reports and presentations for clients.
• Manage project scope, timelines and budgets for advisory assignments.

Skills

Strong technical writing and reporting ability

Commercial awareness of infrastructure projects

Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously

Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Willingness to travel for site visits

Education

Degree in Engineering or related discipline

Strong experience in renewable energy, storage or infrastructure consulting
