Working directly with children, young people, parents, and carers in our groupwork programme.
Our Bereavement Support Volunteer plays a vital role in providing compassionate support to children, young people, and their parents/carers who are experiencing grief.
Working as part of a team within our Groupwork programme, your role aims to help children and young people process their emotions, develop coping strategies, and feel less isolated in their grief journey.
You will also work with the parents/carers of the children within the group, providing them with support and skills to help support their child.
Experience of working with children and adults is beneficial.
Our groups are held on Saturday mornings and currently on a Thursday late afternoon. You would need to be available from 3:30 pm, as the group starts at 4:15 pm.
Stand-by-me Bereavement Support is an award-winning registered charity created to support bereaved children, young people, and their families in North Hertfordshire and Stevenage. Our volunteers play a vital role in our work, whether helping to set up events, working in fundraising, engaging with local businesses, informing bereaved children and families about available help, or working directly with children and young people in our groups. Your contribution can make a difference, and together we can help change the lives of bereaved children and young people in North Herts and Stevenage.
