Division: Private Equity Client Group (PECG)

Join our successful, dynamic, and fast-growing Direct Lending business at Investec. With consistent growth over the past 14+ years, we have established a dedicated investment management function, Private Credit Management (PCM), to manage our existing client base. This role will oversee the Benelux portfolio, consisting of approximately 20 clients and £375 million of committed financing across 19 different financial sponsors.

As an Associate Director, you will play a critical role in scaling our origination team and assisting the wider PCM team in optimising capital and driving profitability.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Portfolio Management:Oversee a portfolio of existing investments, monitor performance and covenant compliance, and participate in portfolio reviews.
• Client Coverage:Build trusted relationships with C-suite executives, understanding their businesses and driving strategic dialogue.
• Origination and Business Development:Collaborate with wider Investec products and services to drive new revenue opportunities and assist with new product propositions.
• People Management:Lead and manage dynamic teams, ensuring the timely delivery of objectives and an exceptional client experience.
• Risk Management:Promote a rigorous investment management and governance environment, escalating risks as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Extensive knowledge of the Benelux and European credit market with strong analytical and presentation skills.
• Significant experience in investing and managing lower- and mid-market private debt investments, including credit underwriting and restructuring processes.
• Proven ability to lead negotiations of credit agreements and analyse company financial statements.
• Strong execution and structuring skills with a high level of numeracy.
• Excellent people management skills, with the ability to coach and develop high-performing teams.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English is required.
