Job summary

H&S Joinery in Blackburn is seeking a skilled Bench Joiner to deliver bespoke joinery projects including window frames, doors, staircases, bars and counters. You will follow site instructions ensuring quality, safety and productivity.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, NVQ Carpentry & Joinery Level 2-3 or equivalent, City & Guilds Advanced Craft, and solid knowledge of woodworking machinery and hand tools. Pay rate depends on experience; holidays, pension and training provided.

Qualifications

• 5+ years on-the-job experience in bench joinery.
• NVQ Carpentry & Joinery Level 2-3 or equivalent.
• City and Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate.
• Detailed knowledge of carpentry and joinery works.
• Knowledge of woodworking machinery and hand tools.
• Strong safety knowledge and practices.
• Self-motivated and aims to exceed targets.

Responsibilities

• Bespoke joinery projects including window frames, doors, staircases, bars and counters.
• Undertake all works as directed by H&S Joinery.
• Liaise with management to align with the programme of works.
• Coordinate with line manager to maintain smooth workflow.
• Ensure health and safety of themselves and others.

Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Bench Joiner to join H&S Joinery based in Blackburn.

The main purpose of the role is to carry out specific joinery works and to ensure that all works are commenced with the upmost regards towards quality, safety and productivity.

Pay rate dependent on experience and qualifications/ 22 Days Holidays + Bank Holidays / Pension Scheme / Training & Development / Free Well-being Initiatives such as occupational health, employee assistance programme.

Hours of work will be : 7.45am 4.00pm - Monday to Thursday and 7.45am to 3.15pm - Friday.

What you'll do:

• Bespoke joinery projects, window frames, doors, staircase, bar and counters
• To undertake all works required of them by H&S Joinery
• To liaise with management in order to ensure the works are in line with the programme of works and as per instructions
• To liaise with their line manager in order to ensure of a continuous flow of works
• To ensure the health and safety of themselves and others

Have you got what it takes:

• 5+ years on the job experience
• NVQ Carpentry and Joinery level 2-3 or equivalent
• City and Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate
• Detailed knowledge of carpentry and joinery works
• Detailed knowledge of wood working machinery and hand tools
• Detailed knowledge of safety
• Able to produce quality work within reasonable deadlines
• Self-motivates and seeks improvement in self and others to achieve and surpass targets/goals
• Operates within company standards and policies; considers consequences/outcomes when making decisions
