Job summary

Five Guys is seeking a Bench General Manager to lead a store, coaching crews, and driving profitability while delivering exceptional guest experiences. You’ll own day-to-day operations, manage the P&L, and partner with leadership to meet targets.

The role includes coaching teams, optimizing sales opportunities, and maintaining the brand’s celebrated standards. You’ll be a hands-on leader who supports staff on the line when needed, inspires high performance, and ensures everyone enjoys a positive

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and people management abilities.
• Proven experience managing a store P&L and driving profitability.
• Exceptional customer service and guest experience focus.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate the store day-to-day, driving sales and controlling costs.
• Lead, coach and develop front-line teams to deliver consistent results.
• Work hands-on on the floor when needed to support the Team and operations.
• Ensure smooth daily operations and long-term planning for growth.
• Foster a positive working environment and maintain Five Guys culture.
• Drive performance through coaching, recognition and reward programs.
• Monitor costs, inventory, and quality to uphold standards.
• Collaborate with the district to support multiple stores as needed.

In some of our stores, there is a talented Bench General Manager who is waiting for their own store. While waiting for your own store you will be based at one of our existing stores supporting the current General Manager and potentially other stores within the district. You will be accountable for the stores day to day operations and results. This includes; leading, inspiring and coaching the teams to ensure the restaurant delivers profitability, and optimises all sales opportunities while delivering an excellent level of customer service.

Our Bench General Managers are our brand ambassadors, they ensure we deliver an excellent level of customer service while demonstrating leadership, coaching and direction. They will bring our values to life for their team and our customers.

AS A BENCH GENERAL MANAGER YOU'LL BE

• Accountable and responsible for your entire store and the people within
• Developing and managing the store team, while supporting the delivery of perfect burgers and fries
• You will be expected to lead from the front, you will be hands-on at times which means jumping in and working on the line shoulder to shoulder with our Crew and Managers
• Having full ownership of your P&L, which means you will need to drive sales whilst controlling costs
• Your store will need to run smoothly on the day-to-day operations and think about long term planning
• Spotting potential and developing your team to ensure there is a strong talent pipeline
