Job summary

A259 Recruitment is assisting a client in Newhaven with a temporary-to-permanent bench assembler role in the Print Dept. Working hours are 8am–5pm Mon–Thu and 8am–1:30pm Fridays, with a possible increase to 42.5 hrs from October 2026. Salary is £12.71 per hour, roughly £502 weekly and about £26,100 per year when permanent.

The role involves assembling picture frames and other products, ensuring quality and following packaging procedures. Benefits include canteen, pension, and parking on-site.

Qualifications

• Previous factory working experience with an understanding of assembly processes.
• Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers and pliers.
• Experience with power tools relevant to assembly tasks.
• Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Job description

Our client in Newhaven, West Sussex is seeking additional detail-oriented Bench Assemblers to join their team within their Print Dept.

** NB* This a temp to perm role for the right candidate.

Hours of work: 8am to 5pm Mon to Thurs- 8am to 1.30pm -Fridays.

£12.71 x 39.5 hrs per week = £502 per week PLUS-Holiday pay on accrued hours- Equivalent to £26,100 per annum +++ when transferred onto a permanent contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling picture frames and other products with precision and efficiency, ensuring high-quality standards are met.

Also to ensure that correct procedures in packaging are followed.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills within a dynamic warehouse environment, contributing to the production process of various goods.
