Job summary

ABM UK is seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance operative to deliver a full-time 40-hour service at the Airbus site in Belfast. You will mow, edge, prune, plant, and maintain outdoor spaces, ensuring compliance with RAMS and COSHH.

The role requires experience in horticulture, a valid UK driving licence, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Excellent safety practices and accuracy in records are essential, along with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work in the UK and pass security checks.
• Full UK driving licence.
• PA1 + PA6 qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in commercial/industrial grounds maintenance.
• Competence with powered horticultural machinery and hand tools.
• Knowledge of health and safety, COSHH, RAMS and safe working practices.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and full-time 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full-time 40-hour grounds maintenance service at the Airbus site per contract schedule.
• Mow, edge, strim, collect arisings and perform minor seeding or repairs.
• Maintain hedges, shrubs, borders and planted areas; prune as needed.
• Prepare, plant, water, and maintain seasonal bedding, trees and replacement plants.
• Use herbicides only when trained and authorised; keep spray records.
• Complete RAMS and follow environmental controls and safety guidelines.
• Inspect grounds for hazards and report issues promptly.
• Operate grounds equipment safely (mowers, trimmers, MEWPs) and maintain records.
