Job description

This specialist education and care service caters for young people aged 4-18 years with a range of needs, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, complex needs such as attachment disorders, trauma or anxiety, high functioning autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), pathological demand avoidance (PDA), and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Pay: GBP 13.68 per hour

The School and Role

This school specialises in educating students with SEMH and SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, PDA, and attachment disorders, often through a holistic therapeutic approach. The role involves working as a Behavioural Support Worker, possibly through P.E activities and supporting lessons in food technology, Maths, and English, in a classroom setting.

Set in Yeovil, the school supports students who have education health care plans or have been excluded from mainstream education, providing a calm, supportive, and safe environment for development and learning. You will join a passionate team dedicated to the education and development of young people.

Requirements

• Experience working with primary and secondary school-aged children.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND.
• A passion for pupil progress.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• A driver’s license, car, and business insurance.
• Experience working with challenging behaviours.
• Team Teach Level 2 is desirable; we offer this free of charge.
