Job summary

Aspire People in Manchester is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Greater Manchester. You will provide in-class support for SEN pupils, including 1:1 and small group work, helping pupils access learning and stay engaged throughout the school day.

A patient, nurturing and resilient approach is essential, with strong communication and teamwork. SEN/SEMH experience is preferred, and a DBS on Update Service is required or willing to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with children/young people (schools, care, youth work, coaching or similar).
• A patient, nurturing and resilient approach.
• SEN/SEMH experience is essential.
• Degree would be advantageous but not essential.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to support personal care if required.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Provide in class support for SEN pupils.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils.
• Help pupils access learning and stay engaged throughout the school day.
• Support classroom routines, transitions and breaktimes.
• Work closely with teachers and the SEND team to monitor progress and wellbeing.
