Job description

Job Title: Behavioural Difficulties Teacher Pay: Paid to scale Location: Wandsworth, London Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm We are seeking a dedicated Behavioural Difficulties Teacher to join our team in the heart of London. As a specialist in educational support for pupils with behavioural challenges, you will play a critical role in facilitating a positive learning environment that promotes student well-being and academic success. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement individualised educational plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each pupil with behavioural difficulties. • Employ a variety of teaching strategies, including positive behaviour support, to engage and motivate students with challenging behaviour. • Work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide a cohesive approach to the students' education and welfare. • Monitor and assess the progress of each student, adjusting teaching methods as necessary to achieve optimal results. • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages respect, self-discipline, and a passion for learning. • Provide guidance and support to students in developing social skills and managing their behaviour effectively. • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child’s progress, challenges, and triumphs. • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in teaching students with behavioural difficulties. • Maintain accurate records of student performance, behaviour plans, and any incidents or interventions. • Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Qualifications: • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent). • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. • Exceptional classroom management skills and various strategies to address behavioural challenges. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents. • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach towards student development. • A commitment to inclusive education and equal opportunities. • Familiarity with the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice. • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
