Overview

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Hull. This role offers the opportunity to work with pupils requiring additional behavioural support, helping them engage positively in learning and develop essential social and emotional skills. Location: Hull. Pay Rate: £89 – £105 per day (depending on experience). Start Date: Immediate. Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time.

Role Overview

As a Behaviour TA, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to encourage positive behaviour, support learning, and create a safe and structured classroom environment. You will provide both 1:1 and small group interventions tailored to pupils’ needs.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with behavioural, social, or emotional needs.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils engage in lessons.
  • Implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour and self-regulation.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience supporting children with behavioural or SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and de-escalation skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
