Behaviour Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Brecon
Location: Brecon, South Powys
Salary: £89.38 per day (via PAYE)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)

Are you calm under pressure and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning? A secondary school in Brecon is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join their specialist team, supporting students with challenging behaviour in a structured, nurturing environment.

Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis in a behaviour-focused provision
Help students regulate emotions, stay engaged in learning, and develop positive coping strategies
Act as a consistent, trusted role model to promote behaviour improvement
Deliver structured interventions and assist with daily routines
Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and pastoral teams to maintain a calm and safe learning environment

Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs (school, youth work, sports coaching, care, or similar)
A patient, empathetic approach and a genuine passion for supporting pupil development
Confidence in managing challenging situations calmly and constructively
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
EWC registration (we can support you with this)

£89.38 per day, paid weekly via PAYE (no umbrella companies!)
Access to free CPD training including behaviour management and trauma-informed strategies
A supportive, hands-on consultant to guide you through your placement
