Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work 121 with a child in year 4. The successful candidate will work alongside teachers, behaviour specialists, and other staff members to support a student with behavioural and emotional challenges. This position offers an opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives by fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist a yr 4 student with special behavioural needs in the classroom and other school settings.
  • Implement behaviour intervention plans (BIPs) under the supervision of certified professionals.
  • Support students in managing emotions and behaviours to promote academic and social success.
  • Encourage the student to engage in classroom activities and help them meet learning goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to monitor students' progress.
  • Collect and document data on the student's behaviour.
  • Help create and maintain a structured and safe learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and support staff to share progress and concerns.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in special education or behavioural support settings.
  • Knowledge of behavioural management techniques and strategies.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate and patient attitude with a genuine desire to help students succeed.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related field preferred).
