Behaviour Support Worker - Swindon
Are you a recent Psychology or Criminology graduate? Are you interested in behaviour and the reason behind it? Are you seeking a rewarding role supporting young people facing difficulties?
An exciting opportunity has opened up for an enthusiastic graduate or experienced Behaviour Support Worker to join an inclusive school in Swindon and support the pupils with their behaviour. This alternative provision caters for students between the age of 11 to 16, all of whom have additional needs, such as ADHD or Autism, and display associated challenging behaviours.
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will work with students who display a range of challenging and difficult behaviours, and struggle conforming to rules enforced by school. You will be instrumental in helping transform behaviour and help the students develop a love for school and passion for learning, whilst helping set them up for a life after education.
Within this Behaviour Support role you will need to have strong behaviour management skills, a compassionate ear and excellent patience to assist with students who have significant behaviour issues. Experience dealing with difficult behaviours in the past would be fantastic, as well as any experience supporting children or young people with additional needs. Graduates in Criminology, Psychology or Social Sciences would also be fantastic, and those who have an understanding of restorative practices and human behaviour.
