We are currently looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to deliver person-centred support to individuals who present high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, and mental health problems. You will be working in a school and supporting children and young people who need 1:1 support for various reasons, such as:

• Anxiety
• Exclusion
• Speech and language difficulties
• Physical and mental health issues, disabilities, and learning difficulties

You must have:

• Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour
• Experience of de-escalation training (advantageous)
• Background in youth work or similar roles will be considered
• Confidence to make decisions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students
• Empathy and understanding
• Willingness to develop skills through professional training and development
