Overview

Behaviour Support Worker - Mental Health & Behaviour (Newcastle, Gateshead & Durham)

What You'll Do
  • Support young people individually and in groups to build resilience, confidence, and positive coping strategies.
  • Use effective behaviour management techniques to reduce barriers to learning and promote emotional regulation.
  • Mentor and guide students to develop social skills and a growth mindset.
  • Deliver intervention programmes when required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, mental health specialists, and families to create consistent support.
  • Assess needs and implement tailored support plans.
  • Manage crisis situations calmly, ensuring safety and well-being at all times.
  • Keep accurate records of progress, safeguarding concerns, and incidents.
