Job description

Leader Education are recruiting a Behaviour Support Worker to work within a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) school based in Ashington, Northumberland. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with young people with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs and experience of supporting in a classroom environment as well as a genuine interest and commitment to helping them reach their full potential.

At Leader Education, the normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30am until 3.30pm.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one
  • Have Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or other relevant qualifications are desirable
  • Have effective behaviour management strategies
  • Monitor and manage students' behaviour and wellbeing
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with EHCP's
  • Have previous experience working with primary and secondary-aged students in an educational setting
