Job summary

Beam ABA Services is recruiting for full-time staff to work on home and community-based programmes across London, focusing on Brent and Camden. You will support individuals with autism and learning disabilities, emphasizing life skills and community participation, with some evenings/weekends required.

We offer specialized training, an IPhone for work, and access to wellbeing and professional development programmes. Visa sponsorship may be possible for certain UK-based candidates.

Qualifications

• 2 years of applied experience working with individuals with autism/learning disability
• Experience supporting non-verbal individuals and promoting alternative communication

Responsibilities

• Implement person-centred programmes using Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavior Support
• Support service users by teaching functional skills and developing communication systems
• Monitor and record data daily according to targets
• Support individuals during crises per Behaviour Support Plan
• Promote safeguarding and wellbeing to the highest standard

Are you passionate about supporting young adults with autism and learning disabilities? Do you want to work in an organisation rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC?

We are currently recruiting for full time staff to work on established home and community-based programmes across London, primarily in Brent and Camden. You will work as part of a team supporting service users with primary diagnoses of autism and learning disabilities across North London with a focus on life skills and community participation. We accept experienced graduates, professionals from other disciplines interested in supporting teenagers and young adults in their home and local community, and candidates who have previously worked in ABA or PBS settings. Beam ABA Services adopts a "positive risk taking" approach in ensuring the young people we support are provided with opportunities that increase their independence and improve their quality of life.

We are a 7 day a week service - successful candidates should be available to work across both weekdays and weekends, including some 9PM finishes.

You must have availability to work across weekdays, evenings, and weekends, including some 9PM finishes. Experience supporting individuals with autism and learning disability is essential.

Duties

• To assist in the implementation of person centred programmes utilising Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support best practice
• To support service users by teaching functional skills, developing communication systems, enhancing social skills under a framework that provides choice and promotes empowerment.
• To monitor and take accurate data daily as per service users' targets
• To support individuals during times of crisis - e.g., behaviours of concern, providing support as per prescribed Behaviour Support Plan strategies and protocols.
• To ensure all programme materials are organised and accessible
• To assist service user with self-help skills including personal care and hygiene needs (e.g., toileting, nappy changing, feeding, bathing, nail cutting, and medication)
• To model best practice and professionalism at all times
• To attend mandatory trainings, team meetings and self-directed e-learning modules
• To promote safeguarding and wellbeing for service user to the highest standard
• To implement restrictive techniques per service users positive handling plan as required
• Flexibility to support service user during evenings and weekends
• Other duties as required by your manager

Required qualifications and skills

• 2 years of applied experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autism
• Experience of supporting individuals who are non-verbal, with experience of promoting alternative modes of communication.
• Experience of supporting individuals through periods of dysregulation, including episodes of behaviours of concern.

Preferred qualifications

• Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field
• Clean drivers' licence

• 3 years of applied experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autism
• Registered Behaviour Technician - or working towards
• Experience utilising ABA methodology

IND-BST-L

• Full-time positions are available, paid at an hourly rate of £12.82-£14 depending on qualifications and experience, Immediate salary for full-time staff from £25,000- £27,300 based on 37.5 hour working week - overtime hours available. You should have availability to work across weekdays, evenings, and weekends, including some 9PM finishes. Full training provided.
