Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a dedicated Supply Teaching Assistant to work within the a Pupil Referral Unit, supporting learners across a range of ages from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4.
A vital part of the local education service, providing specialist support for pupils who are temporarily unable to access mainstream schooling. The unit works with learners displaying a range of emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties, providing a tailored approach to help them re-engage with education.
Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in small group or 1:1 settings.
Assisting with tailored curriculum activities and therapeutic interventions.
Promoting emotional well-being, resilience, and positive behaviour.
Supporting teaching staff with lesson delivery and behaviour management.
Ensuring consistency and building trust through positive, stable relationships.
A calm, resilient, and patient approach.
Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour.
Ability to form meaningful relationships with learners who may have experienced trauma or disruption.
Willingness to support a flexible, often non-traditional curriculum.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Background in education, youth work, care, or similar roles is highly desirable.
Team Teach, MAPA, or similar behaviour management training is beneficial (but training can be provided).
A supportive, experienced consultant at Teaching Personnel to guide you through the process.
Regular work with a trusted partner school, with the potential to secure a permanent contract.
Competitive daily rates paid weekly via PAYE.
