Seeking a Behaviour Support Teacher in Blandford!

Job Title: Behaviour Support Teacher
Location: Blandford
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 (MPS/UPS)
Contract Type: Permanent/Full time
Start Date: September/ Immediate

Are you a passionate educator looking to make a difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs? GSL Education are currently partnering with a SEN school in Blandford, in the pursuit of a dynamic and dedicated full-time Behaviour Support Teacher, with a vacancy for the new academic year, starting in September. There is scope to start sooner too!

The school supports students who have been excluded from mainstream education for various reasons, such as behaviour and emotional dysregulation. The school emphasises the importance of collaboration between staff, students, parents, and management for success. The school also collaborates closely with the Dorset SEND team to swiftly identify and support pupil needs. Staff undergo regular training and updates on behaviour support strategies from various professionals and agencies. Special Educational Needs and Disability strategies are meticulously planned and monitored to ensure optimal outcomes for all pupils, irrespective of SEND status.

About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Teacher, you will provide accessible and inclusive education for students, working with numerous support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and deliver dynamic lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  2. Provide individualised support and guidance to students, promoting their academic and personal development.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to create comprehensive support plans for students with SEN.
  4. Maintain accurate records of student progress and development, ensuring that all necessary documentation is up to date.
  5. Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and carers, promoting effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification in SEN education.
  2. Previous experience of working in a SEN school setting.
  3. Strong understanding of different SEN needs and effective strategies for supporting students.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  5. Dedication to promoting inclusion and equality in education.
