GSL education’s South Yorkshire branch is looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join as Behaviour Support in primary schools in Sheffield. This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the development of our young learners.

Job summary:

As a Behavior Support , you will support the teacher and other support staff in helping students to both manage their behavior and attain positive social skills. Your role will be crucial in creating a safe and conducive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with behavioural needs.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering activities aimed at improving student behaviour.
  • Support the social and emotional development of students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent support for all students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in a behaviour support role is desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are preferred.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • An updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
