About you

Our Allied Health team is seeking a passionate, flexible, and professional Behaviour Support Practitioner with therapeutic knowledge and experience for our growing practice. You will have qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, or relevant fields and experience developing, writing, and implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs). A current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Social Work Association is required.

The role

The Behaviour Support Practitioner develops, implements, and evaluates positive behaviour management plans, strategies, and recommendations to support individuals with complex needs and behaviours of concern to achieve positive outcomes, aiming to reduce or eliminate restrictive practices.

You will provide information, guidance, and training using evidence-based, person-centred approaches, supporting individuals to achieve personal goals while maintaining choice and control. The role includes providing individual counselling and therapy across the lifespan.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, or relevant fields, with experience in PBSPs
  • Experience working effectively with children, young people, or adults with disabilities, mental health issues, or complex behavioural needs
  • Ability to work as part of a team, consulting and collaborating with staff to support individuals with complex behaviours
  • Experience in training others in behaviour management strategies, working closely with individuals, families, carers, and guardians
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
  • Current NSW Driver's license
  • Current WWCC or willingness to obtain
  • Current Police Check or willingness to obtain
  • Current NDIS Worker Check
  • Experience in the Out of Home Care sector and mental health
  • Experience providing behaviour support supervision to stakeholders
  • Strong group facilitation and training skills
