About You

Our Allied Health team is seeking a passionate, flexible, and professional Behaviour Support Practitioner with therapeutic knowledge and experience. Candidates should have qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, or a relevant field, and experience developing, writing, and implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs). Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Social Work Association is required.

The Role

The Behaviour Support Practitioner will develop, implement, and evaluate positive behaviour management plans, strategies, and recommendations to support individuals with complex needs and behaviours of concern, aiming to reduce or eliminate restrictive practices. The role involves providing information, guidance, and training using evidence-based, person-centred approaches to help individuals achieve their personal goals while maintaining choice and control. Additionally, the practitioner will provide individual counselling and therapy across the lifespan.

Minimum Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, or a relevant field, with experience in PBSPs
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with children, young people, or adults with disabilities, mental health issues, or complex behavioural needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, carers, and guardians
  • Experience in training on behaviour management strategies
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Current WWCC or willingness to obtain
  • Current Police Check or willingness to obtain
  • Current NDIS Worker Check
  • Experience in Out of Home Care sector and mental health
  • Experience providing behaviour support supervision to stakeholders
  • Strong group facilitation and training skills
