Queen Katharine Academy is seeking a resilient Behaviour Support Co-ordinator to lead our Behaviour Support Room. You will work independently much of the day, supported by a strong pastoral and leadership team, helping students regulate behaviour and return to lessons.

The role focuses on creating a calm, structured environment, guiding reflection and restorative conversations, and using positive behaviour strategies.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting young people with behavioural, social, emotional, or additional needs would be an advantage.
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with staff, students and families.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Behaviour Support Room and create a calm, structured environment.
  • Support students in reflecting on behaviours and using restorative conversations.
  • Guide students back to lessons with positive behaviour strategies.
  • Collaborate with staff and families to reinforce high expectations.

Job description

At Queen Katharine Academy, we are looking for a resilient and compassionate Behaviour Support Co-ordinator to lead our Behaviour Support (Reset) Room. This is a rewarding role where you will work independently for much of the day, supported by a strong pastoral and leadership team when needed, helping students regulate their behaviour, remain engaged in learning and successfully return to lessons. Your role: You will create a calm, structured and purposeful environment for students who have been removed from lessons, guiding them through reflection, restorative conversations and positive behaviour strategies. You will work closely with staff, students and families, reinforcing high expectations while helping students develop the skills and confidence to succeed. We are looking for someone with strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills, excellent communication, emotional resilience and the ability to build positive relationships. Experience supporting young people with behavioural, social, emotional or additional needs would be an advantage.

Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks (term time plus 1 week) Working Pattern: 8am - 4pm Mon to Thurs, 8am - 3.30pm on Fridays Salary: Pathway 3, £23,339 - £24,889 per year (FTE £27,254 - £29,064) Site: Queen Katharine Academy Closing date: 9am on 21st September Start date: Asap Please note the trust may decide to withdraw the advert before the closing date or interview suitable candidates prior to the advert closing.
