Are you calm, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people with behavioural needs? We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Learning Support Assistant to join our team and help create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

Position: Behaviour Learning Support Assistant
Working Hours: Full time
Start Date: Immediately / September 2025
Location: Witham

About the Role:
As a Behaviour Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who may display challenging behaviour, helping them to manage their emotions, develop positive coping strategies, and re-engage with learning. You will support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to provide consistent behaviour support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement
  • Implement behaviour plans and de-escalation strategies
  • Assist in creating a calm, safe classroom environment
  • Liaise with teachers and support staff to promote student progress and wellbeing
  • Encourage resilience, self-regulation, and respectful communication

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs (preferred)
  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to remain positive and supportive in challenging situations
