Behaviour Support Assistant

Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Preston
Salary: 90 - 115
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-Time Only

About the Role:
We are seeking a resilient, calm, and proactive Behaviour Support Assistant to work with pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other behavioural challenges in our SEN school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in managing challenging behaviour using restorative and therapeutic approaches.

  • De-escalate situations calmly and effectively, ensuring a safe learning environment.

  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

  • Help implement individual behaviour plans and monitor progress.

  • Assist with academic tasks, encouraging engagement and focus.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with challenging behaviour or in an SEN/SEMH setting.

  • Strong behaviour management skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.

  • Good teamwork and communication skills.

  • DBS clearance (or willingness to apply).
