Job summary

REESON Education is seeking a dependable Behaviour Support Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school. You will support students with diverse needs, both inside and outside the classroom, using a calm, patient and proactive approach.

In this role you will work one-to-one or in small groups, helping with lessons and everyday routines while managing challenging behaviour. A physically active, hands-on mindset and commitment to safeguarding are essential.

Behaviour Support Assistant

About the Role:

We are looking for a dependable, proactive and resilient individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school. This is a practical, active role suited to someone who is confident, steady under pressure, and ready to get stuck in to support young people in a meaningful way.

You will work closely with students with a range of additional needs, supporting them throughout the school day both in and out of the classroom. The role calls for patience, consistency, and a calm, firm approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting students with learning, behaviour, and day-to-day routines
• Assisting the class teacher with lessons and structured activities
• Working one-to-one or with small groups to reinforce learning
• Managing challenging behaviour with confidence and consistency
• Supporting students during break times, transitions, and off-site activities
• Assisting with personal care, including toileting and hygiene needs
