Job summary

Academics Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant in East Grinstead to support pupils with SEMH/MLD/ASD needs in a specialist school. The role focuses on 1:1 and small group support, safeguarding, and collaboration with Therapists and Counsellors.

The position runs 08:30–15:30, Monday to Friday, term time only, with on-site training and CPD provided. You must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS required or overseas police check where applicable.
• Right to work in the UK is required; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with the learning experience.
• Provide dedicated support to pupils with learning, physical, sensory, or behavioural challenges.
• Ability to build trusted and effective relationships with the pupils.
• Willing to do 1:1 and small group support and work with pupils.
• Follow the safeguarding guidelines and implement them in the classroom.
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be a good listener with a compassionate and caring approach.
• Needs to attend staff meetings and complete relevant CPD.
• Able to commute to East Grinstead.

Fantastic on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all pupils
