Location: Christchurch, Dorset
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Start Date: After Easter 2025 / September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent (Part-time can also be arranged for the right candidate)

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students who need additional help in managing their behaviour. You will work closely with teachers and other school staff to create a positive and inclusive environment where students feel supported and motivated to learn. Your guidance will help students manage their emotions, develop social skills, and build resilience to overcome challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Support students: Help students manage their behaviour and emotional needs.
• Assist teachers: Work closely with teachers to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Provide support: Offer one-on-one and small group support to students who need additional help.
• Encourage positive behaviour: Foster respect and cooperation among students.
• Motivate students: Help students stay engaged and focused during lessons and activities.
• Offer support outside lessons: Provide guidance during break times, school trips, and extracurricular activities.
• Track progress: Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help them improve.
• Collaborate with the school team: Work with staff to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all students.

We're Looking For:

• Experience in supporting students with behavioural needs is preferred but not essential.
• A genuine passion for helping students develop emotionally, socially, and academically.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
• Flexibility to adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of students.
• University students are encouraged to apply for this role.
• Up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps explained.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
• Competitive hourly rate of £12.82.
• A full-time permanent role with the option for part-time for the right candidate.
